Sugimoto will take legal action against the Japanese Government, after they confiscated his passport to prevent him from traveling to Syria to report on the civil war there. After the murder of the Japanese journalist Kenji Goto and Haruna Yukawa by ISIS, the Japanese Government does not want to allow Japanese travel to the area. Sugimoto told to Kyodo News that he had planned to travel to Syria and report from refuge camps far from the territory held by ISIS. (Photo by Rodrigo Reyes Marin/AFLO)
