February 5, 2013, Tokyo, Japan - Three of Tokyo's big stations Shinjuku, Shibuya and Ikebukuro hold the three first positions on a recently published list of the 51 busiest train stations in the world. According to an unconfirmed graph published in Japanese news blogs this week, Shinjuku Station holds the first position with approximately 1,260,000,000 people who pass through it in one year, Shibuya Station comes second with approx. 1,090,000,000 and third position goes to Ikebukuro Station with approximately, 910,000,000 people passing through annually. Most of the list is dominated by Japanese stations with Umeda Station from Osaka in fourth place with approx. 820,000,000 per year and Yokohama Station approx. 820,000,000 passing through each year in fifth place.
