Japan's core consumer price index (CPI) fell 1.2% in March compared to the same period last year, marking the 13th straight month of decline, government statistics revealed. The Bank of Japan forecast an end to deflation next year, predicting prices would rise 0.1% in the 12 months starting April 2011, and increased its median growth forecast for this year from 1.3% to 1.8%.
